Beko WMA510W

Hi,

My Beko WMA510W is about 3 years old and for the last 6 months is spinning intermittently, probably only about 1 in 20 washes.

After it has completed the cycle I have tried the spin/drain option numerous times but with no result everytime and the clothes come out sopping wet.

I have also noticed that the 30 minute cycle has started taking longer to complete.

pump gets bunged up pretty badly fairly often. carbon hungry motors but pcbs also fragile. overly-sensitive out of balance system too…

first empty of clothes and fill with a rinse programme,
select drain.
if it drains within time parameters ok, clear programme
if it doesnt drain quickly enough, an error code will flash one of the leds, and should stop the pump so it doesnt burn out. in which case somewhere either in the filter or between the pump and bottom of the drum theres likely to be a blockage. the pump may even appear ok, and sound alright, but the impeller may be damaged. also if the pump has burned out it wont run a spin cycle.
select spin and test spin programme. if works fine, without a load, theres a chance either the pcb has a failed component, or the machines out of balance has kicked in, although to have this happen 95{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time on various sized loads would be quite abnormal.

if doesnt spin or cant get past “slow” itll probs be carbons. so check these – remember to unplug before going under the machine, also remember beko-branded brushes are often supplied singularly so make sure if you do need them, you order a pair…

ok,
followed instructions and the machine is draining ok but is spinning slowly so by my amateur knowledge it must be the brushes…

I am able to get my hands on a broken second hand Beko WMA 641W – would the brushes from that be compatible with my WMA510W by any chance??

Take the brushes off and look. If they’re down to a few millimetres, replace them. If not, it’s usually the pcb at fault.

whats the point ?

for the effort of changing them, the brushes are cheap enough. should be less than £20 for a pair, and youll have all the life of a new set. second hand ones might be 75{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} gone!

dont get me wrong im all for recycling spares, but only the bits worth re-using!
