ParticipantHi
I have a Beko wmb 71642 w washing maching wich has a self clean cycle. I have followed instructions about how to use, nothing is in the washing machine yet after 10 mins the cycle stops, which using the FAQ means there is something in the machine but there isnt. I tried it again with the same results. The display tells me the cycle should last over 2 hours?Any help would be much appreciated

ah result
under the sale of goods act all machines have to be “of merchantable quality” “fit for the putpose” and last a reasonable lenth of time for an appliance of its type. the reasonable man woulod expect a washing machine to last longer than 18 months
go back to the retailer where you bought it stating that under the sale of goods act ( think its 1979)as amended your machine was not of merchantable quality and not fit for purpose and what are they going to do about it. up to 2 years old it should not be too much of a fight.good luck

Some light reading on satisfactory quality which isn’t as cut and dry as we would all like to think 😉
And a simpler version here

I’ve got exactly the same problem as the OP had and this is the only reference I can find to this problem anywhere so was hoping maybe someone has since found a fix for it.
Thanks for any help.
