hi, been a while since posting on here but i have recently had a broblem with my washing machine, the drum has just stopped working. it will fill with water but no motion at all from the drum and the countdown pauses after filling, then nothing until i cancel the wash when it will drain completely and stop. does anyone know if error codes can be read on this machine? i am thinking it is something to do with either the motor or something that controls the motor, the machine is nearly 4 years old. i hope someone can point me in the right direction as to weather it is something i can repair myself or if i need to call in an engineer. thanks in advace PJ

Motor carbon brushes need replacing by the sounds of things.

thanks Martin, could a machine work one day then not the next if it was the brushes?

It’s made in Turkey so I wouldn’t be at all surprised. 😉

But, seriously…….4 yrs flogging and the motor brushes take a hell of a lot of wear. So now is the time to take a look at them OR call out a local repair person and get it fixed. 😀

i managed to get some brushes this morning, one brush i took out had about 12mm left on it but the other one was worn right down. Anyway, the new brushes did the trick. thanks.
