Hi all, hopefully someone can offer me some advice.

The drain pump on my Beko washing machine has randomly stopped working. If I put it on a wash, it will pump water in, wash the clothes but it will never drain the water and move on to the spin cycle. It will literally sit forever spinning with a drum full of water, it doesn’t sound like it even attempts to turn on the drain pump.

I’ve drained the water manually, cleaned the filter at the front and even took out the drain pipe and cleaned it. Nothing has helped. The last time it did work I heard a loud “clicking” noise and it hasn’t worked since.

Coincidentally, I got a letter through the post a few days before notifying me that my warranty has expired 👿

I’d rather attempt to fix it myself first, if possible. Any ideas what else I can check? Thanks.

Your machine doesn’t “pump” water in.

It lets water in using the pressure in the supply by opening an electro-mechanical water valve.

    More here:

It drains water by way of a drain pump.

Common reasons for not draining are covered here:

    More info here:

If it spins with water in it then the machine “thinks” its drained down when it really hasn’t and that points toward a pressure switch issue and/or pump but possibly a blocked pressure chamber or hose. But, I’d have thought it would error out if that were the case.

That lot should give you some homework though and allow you to better understand how they work and what to look for. 😉

    K.
