    Hi
When switching on our washing machine the door locks and the pump starts then stops, this repeats but nothing else happens. I have replaced the control board and pressure switch. Industrial electrician to trade but never worked on domestic appliances.

There has been talk of the motor causing this fault. (check motor brushes if fitted)

Hi, thanks for the reply. It’s a brushless motor but I can’t get any resistance readings from it, ther are 3 thin cables and 2 heavier ones which I assume are the motor supply, I connect 240v to these but nothing happened. I expect the 3 thin cables are for speed control.
I may order a new motor as I can’t find anything else wrong (they are around £150 🙁 )

A new motor has fixed the fault although it was half the price of a new machine.
