I have been looking at my broken washing machine today. Prior to this my understanding of washing machine internals was limited to motor and drum with bricks on… However.

The machine turns on, display works, control knob moves through choices so I set it to spin and press start.
Door locks, few seconds wait then it ‘kicks’ the motor 3 or 4 times spinning the drum a little. Then generally it sits there doing nothing. Other programms don’t work but has got no water connected now so not a great shock.

Looked up how to find error code and got e11.
Brushes looked good-machine only had light use for 6 months though.
Wires and connections checked / replugged.
Looked at the tacho coil – tested with variable output when motor turned over by hand. This was tested at the plug into the PCB too and was the same there.
Visually checked DC module and main PCB no components exploded.

Loathed to give up on it really. Any experienced folk can tell from the above whether this is likely PCB fault or something cheaper?
    Thanks

First and foremost if you have a 6 months old appliance it would be covered by warranty, and you should’nt be working on it.
But seeing you have now invalidated the warranty, when you looked up the error E11 it would have pointed you to the suggested area to check, namely:- motor, motor connections, motor relay (p.c.b), tacho or tacho connections.
If it goes to spin immediately instead of ramping up in speed gradually, i’d be changing the p.c.b, d.c module and motor. Have done a few of these under warranty which have come back to haunt if all 3 components are not changed.
