    Hi All,

got above washing machine, about 7 years old. Motor area makes a clicking noise that gets faster or slower depending on motor speed. Will complete a cycle without a spin cycle however any spin speed will cause the electrics to trip out once it starts to speed up. I’ve also noticed that the LCD starts to flicker at the point of tripping.

does anyone have any ideas as to what this may be. So far drain pump and heater have tested fine as wash successfully completed.

    thanks
    Andrew

Main motor is shot, a section of the commutator has become raised causing the noise and tripping.

Awesome, would it be a motor swap job or could I get away with changing the brushes ( very novice with motors!!)

New brushes will not cure a commutator fault, new motor is the only option. 🙁
