ParticipantI had a call to the above 2 year-old Beko washing machine reported as “banging” (as in noisy, not excellent).
The drum had dropped on the right-hand side, the tub bracket where the spring supports the tub had worn through. The left-hand side was also badly worn but not as yet failed.
I notice on this machine there are no plastic spring “bearings” on the machine/spring or listed on connect. I also notice with surprise, there is no grease in the area.
Does anyone know if the springs are usually lubricated on this machine?
Is this a known fault?September 15, 2021 at 5:40 pm #478994electrofix

This only relates to the top spring fixing though.
Could this have caused excessive wear to the drum?September 15, 2021 at 6:24 pm #478996electrofix
Moderatorno mention of tub wear problems but they also mention a spring change

DaveLooking at the picture I think the machine had the newer version.
The machine is dated 2019 whereas the tech bulletin is 2017.
Also, according to the notes, it looks like this mod was to prevent the tub from hitting the door glass.
It doesn’t say anything about lubricating the spring either.
Thanks for looking into it Dave.September 15, 2021 at 6:50 pm #478998electrofix
Moderatormad is this saving hundreths of a penny by not greasing it
and promoting early failure

ParticipantThis is a rented property and the tenant doesn’t take care of things but I can’t fathom a reason for this failing other than manufacturing fault.
This machine is only used by a single person so not as if it’s getting excessive use (unless she’s taking washing in).
If it’s a manufacturing fault I’m surprised it’s not already known about.September 24, 2021 at 7:51 pm #479000murv
ParticipantHad a few rentals wear through.
I usually repair hanger hole with melted offcuts from an old tub then re-drill for the spring. Reassemble with silicone grease as it’s plastic friendly.
