I didn’t want to get stuck with this but took pity on the lady. 😥

I don’t think this machine is that old but she bought it from a local trader of dubious reputation. I am not sure if it was graded or new but he has been out to it several times already and is now telling her he cannot come out for weeks or just not turning up when promised.

Initial complaint was that the Start/Pause button was pushed right in.

The facia had no screws in it and the console module was adrift of its lower clips. I refitted the very flimsy plastic button and the small clear plastic doofer that presses on the module switch and transmits the neon lights into the button.
Set to spin, display shows 19 mins, 1600 spin neon on steady, main wash neon flashing, pressing start button has no effect and it is not illuminated.
I don’t want to get to involved with this but does anyone know if this is an error code and if so what is it.

    Jim,
I do not know that model… but from your conclusion “Start/Pause button was pushed right in” I think quit quickly the problem is in button itself (device). The reason why he became so (I think) it was not react on push action. You have to check if he works and his contacts on PCB. I had so many faults like this on many different washer brands (Siemens-Bosch, Electrolux-AEG-TricityB-…). If you have soldering iron with you only re-solder all switches on PCB because the problem it’s possible to come from another cross connection from one of them.

Thanks for your reply baron, I did test the small switch on the PCB and it appeared to be working, I could hear it when I pressed the Start button before I replaced the facia. Although the button was pressed in, the fact that the board itself was loose meant that the bits of the button had fallen inside the facia.

Make a probe(test) without fascia to see if its realy work either the button and PCB.
