ParticipantHi my cooker works when you turn it on the the pressure disappears .I
spoke to a gas engineer, I told him my problem he said my regulator was faulty so he came and fitted a new one .£90 later my problem is still here.
I have tried cleaning the jets but that has not worked either. When I switch on the cooker it is fine for about 20 seconds then loses power .Is their a regulator in the cooker? or does anyone know what my problem could beif anyone could guide me I would be grateful

I take it you are not on natural gas?

That makes more sense now as the pressure regulator on normal gas is owned by the supplier.
You need a gas safe lpg trained technician. They will be able to check the gas output pressure when you operate the cooker. I assume you have had this cooker working for a while and it has just failed.
It is obvious you probably either have a pressure or a flow problem.have any of the pipes been damaged (squashed).
Either way a qualified engineer can tell. Why was the regulator changed did they test it ?

No they did not test it ,I explained my symptoms and he told me that the problem was the outside regulator .He is a corgi registered technician

well he is obviously wrong.
I would check his registration as there are some cowboys out there. As far as I know corgi don’t regulate it anymore its covered by Gas Safe
https://www.gassaferegister.co.uk/I don’t do gas but I would say there must be a way of testing the gas pressure in the system because that is critical to the safe working of the appliances on the system
you have 2 options
you either find another engineer to check the system and oryou ring up the one you had and tell him that the problem is still present so the part he replaced was not needed. since he replaced a part that was no necessary you want a refund
its worth a try.
there are a few members on here with the ability to repair LPG systems who may have more idea. We cannot give you information to do it yourself due to gas laws and possible liability.
you could look
http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/search/fi … e-engineerand see if any of our members near you can do LPG in your area
I am hoping another member with LPG knowledge might pick up this thread and be able to point you in the right direction

You need a gas safe engineer to check the working pressure for you this obtains if you have the right amount of gas going to the appliances if this is checked and ok it rules it out
