ParticipantWas told that everything on this cooker worked apart from the oven.
Meggered the oven element and it was showing large earth leakage of 7.7 and rising on 500v and 20mohms so I know that has gone.
I went to check the circuit before ordering the element and found the clock panel not working… Since the clocks on these cookers turn the oven into Auto/Manual I know that it is a pointless exercise fitting an element unless I can get that clock working again.
Since all the rings are working I am thinking that the thermal fuse should be ok… So, assuming I am wrong and the clock is actually ok; Is there anything else that would take-out the clock that I should be looking at on this cooker, or am I right in thinking the cooker is ber due to the clock timer ass’ly part being around £100?
A little guidence and your opinions please chasps.

Seems a shame to BER simply for that, given that loads of people tell me they never use the auto. Anyway, can’t you just take the clock out and open it up to see?

Nah… it is one of those Mike… The job is for a ‘Vunerable’ so got to be carefull there… notwithstanding this, she is repeatedly stating that she cant afford this to be happening, and then the old addage comes in, social security payments dropped, 5 yr old daughter, son away at uni..
The only way I can see this working out is either someone knows something else that causes the clock to say bye bye, something like a protection fuse or something, or, if the clock can be bypassed directly to manual.. but that one poses a risk.

Looked at pic of new clock on Connect. Looks pretty sure that it’s just a relay with some overpriced and unnecessarily sophisticated electronic stuff around it. I’d take off the two connectors / single plug? next to the relay and you should find that one side will come from the main line in and the other will go to the oven control. If so, bridge them and you should have manual operation OK. You could disconnect, insulate & tie up the other wires going to the clock to disable the display.

Shouldn’t require a wiring diagram really, most timers will have a neutral & live to power clock module, relay outputs (live) from timer goes to ovens.

Thanks for the info guys… I think the last clock that I worked on was around 10 years ago on a TB Ambassador, by the sounds of it they havn’t changed much then…
Didn’t want to go back to waste more unpaid time… Will contact her support worker and advise…
Thanks again
