ParticipantI have a Belling 450R fan oven
The other day when I switched the fan oven on it came on as normal. I went away to allow the oven to warm up and when I came back it had gone off.
All the rest of the cooker is working ok hobs, top oven and grill. The fan is not working and the oven does not heat.
I have taken out the Element and tested it with multimeter and I get a resistance reading, so I assume that the element is Ok.
The fan had been running slowly lately so I have taken that out and cleaned it. I have independantly tested the fan and it now works at full speed.
I have re-assembled the fan and element but when I switch on the oven- Nothing. no fan turning and no heat.
I have checked that the timer is off.
Wiring to the switches is sound. What else could have caused both the fan and heat to go off.
Thanks John

Red indicator light not showing, Timer is set to manuel and there is continuity through to the element and fan.
I have seen on another spares website CKR5774 Thermal cut out.
Could this be the problem.September 1, 2012 at 9:12 am #380410RocketMan

Don’t randomly replace parts. Use your multimeter, and check the wiring as previously suggested. When you get to the TOC, check it for contiunity (disconected). If it’s opon circuit then it may well be your problem. Purchase original part (082617189) from the website shop. Link at the top of this page (store). You’ll get a good price and excellent service. If it’s not in the shop email them and they’ll get it for you. POWER OFF !!!!

Hi RocketMan
I have done as your suggested with POWER OFF, and here are the results.
Tested across the fan oven switch terminals.
Switch off Resistance 84.4
switch on Resistance -00.1Tested across the fan terminals with fan connected
Oven Switch off Resistance 60.6
oven switch on Resistance 16.9Tested across the element terminals with element attached
Oven switch off Resistance 23.5
Oven switch on Resistance 16.8Element tested when unconnected Resistance 23.6
Not sure where the TOC is but I have found something between the switch and the element on the live side. It is just like a small in/out link on a bracket with terminal either side.
I get a resistance reading of -00.1 across the terminals of this part.Does this help you or anybody else and what next ?
