Belling 647 main oven stat wiring change

i have a Belling 647ss and customer complains that main oven is overheating so i diagnosed faulty thermostat. On ordering new one and stripping appliance down i discovered that it only had 2 tags but one fitted to cooker had 3 tags. On calling belling themselves they tell me that i also need a switch pack now and if buying from them or Connect that a new wirng diagram is included but guess what ..it wasnt 🙁

so any help on how i should reconnect the new stat and switch pack up would be greatly appreciated. 😉

not sure if the same as the one i had but i assume its a fan oven

3 wires on old stat

live wire
fan live feed
element live feed

all they have done is seperate the fan feed on another switch link a live to this other switch and put your fan feed on it

you have to have a continous feed to the fan and the element goes through the stat when you think about it its very simple circuits

thanks for the reply. i have to fit a switch pack infront of the new stat. the switch pack has 2 contactors and not having done one of these for a while would appreciate the new wiring layout put in the most simpliest terms possible cos my brain aint firing on all cylinders lately.

i understand what you are saying about the 3 wires on the existing stat being 1. live feed 2. feed to fan 3. feed to element.

so with the switch pack i have to put the fan feed to this and link a live from new stat to the opposite side to which i have connected the fan. does it matter which contactor? or do both make a circuit when the knob is turned to select a temperature?

The live has to feed the fan motor and the element, so feed to the switch unit, spur to the stat, neutral on the other contact and you should find that you have an uncle called Robert. Continuity check will reveal which feeds which in a few seconds,
