I have a Belling 648HM and recently the temperature has been far too high. Checking with an oven thermometer, when the dial says 200, it is actually about 300 and when it says 85, it is actually 200. (Although it only seems to work to this scale if heated up & then cooled down to the required temp).

I presume this is a straightforward broken thermostat.

However, I can’t seem to find any sites which have thermostats for this this exact model, so if anyone out there knows what the thermostat is it would be appreciated.

It also looks quite straightforward to open the top of the oven, thread the old thermostat out and put the new one in. I’m reasonably handy with electronics, so is this something I should consider attempting?

It certainly sounds like it, yes.

This is the one you need for the main oven. 🙂
