    Hi folks,

Thanks for the help with replacing the element in my Belling 864ST it’s working as normal now.

Thought I’d try my luck with another ‘problem’, it has a push down lid over the gas hobs that doesn’t allow the gas to be used if it’s down, when we lift it all the way up it’s like it not quite going all the way as the gas is still restricted a bit.

We can tell this as when one of the hobs is lit if we push the lid further back and try and hold it you can hear the gas flow increase, then when we let go it springs back in to its old position and it decreases again.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Paul

sounds like your lid spring/hinges are worn and need replacing! also make sure the caps that are oven the hinge brakets are not broken!
