KeymasterHi there
Does any anyone know where I can get an element for the fan oven on my Belling 924 Countrychef ?
This will be the second time it needs replacing (out of warranty)….suspect it might have something to do with HID kicking the door closed !I intend to do it myself…any issues/ do I need a multimeter?
Any help appreciated
Nick

I can get one for you Nick but they’re a bit pricey for the genuine one at £49.00 inclusive.
Can you email me a picture showing the dimensions as I may well be able to supply for half that price.
It’s behind the rear cover inside the oven, you’ll need a multeter to test it if you’re unsure if it’s failed or now, although quite often fan elements are visibly blown.
Rememeber to disconnect the cooker from all power before attemtping :zap:

Hi Dave,
Can you tell us how to check that the element has gone with a multi meter, we think we need one for our Belling 924 also out of warranty, but want to check before purchasing a new one.
Many thanks

Visably blown normally so you’ll need to remove it, if not a multimeter to check continuity. :plug:

Yes, it’s in the shop here:
Ignore the brand names listed for it as your Belling is actually manufactured by Brandt and rebadged.

I have a Belling 864. A week ago, whilst cooking I heard a loud pop noise, and saw a Flash of light inside the oven. Since then although the fan still works, there’s no heat being generated inside the oven. I’ve assumed that the element has blown (it’s about 3.5 years old – would that be the right timeframe?).
If it is the element, is it easy to replace? Or would you recommend that this is a job left only to professionals?
Many thanks in anticipation of your advice!

It’s almost certainly the fan element which is behind the rear panel in the oven, sorry I can’t give nay more technical guidance than that.
The element is £49 from Belling but if you could take a photo and email it to me I can almost certainly find a more reasonable replacement.
Make sure it’s disconnected 1st :zap:
If you’re unsure, then best bet is ask an engineer, check repairs@ and the directories.
Dave.
