    The controls for both the halogen hobs have broken and I have been informed by my local spares shop that they are obsolete and no longer obtainable. An EGO 5057071.010 has been offered as an alternative but this is a continuously variable control not a 6 position switch and the connections bear no relelation to the original. Does anyone know if this is a suitable alternative and if so could they tell me the correct wiring arrangement.

    I take it this had the original Dreefs controllers? They were p/no SW0235 and are obsolete as Belling parts. However, they were used in Hygena and Schrieber hobs, so perhaps could be sourced that way. Dave the Spares Guru might be able to advise further.
