The metal element has failed on the smaller halogen plate (1.2kW?) on a Belling Formula Three hob. I can find halogen bulbs, regulators, contol knobs etc still but no reference anywhere to this resistance coil which completes the circuit to the bulbs. Is it necessary? Can the circuit be made without damaging the regulator? Is there a spare available anywhere? Am I best to replace the hotplate completely with a universal replacement such as that advertised on http://www.elementman.com (HH51) 1.2kW 165mm dia which comes complete with a new regulator for £54-50?
If anyone is “breaking” a CHU260 or similar can they advise?
Thanks
CHU260 spares are now obsolete I’m afraid, you can get some halogen tubes still, on the ceramic end there should be a voltage and wattage rating, if you can let me know that please….
