Belling Cooker 644SI

A customer has bought a new cooker and is asking if it would be possible to fit an oven lamp as the hole for one is blanked off. I’m trying to find out what parts would be needed to do this. Connect list a lamp assembly, their number 5031686109706 but there’s no photo and I don’t know if it’s complete with the glass. Also, would it need any form of switch for the light or does it come on with the oven?

Phidom, I have come across loads of Belling models made by Creda with the light fitting blanked off, Always seemed a bit penny pinching to me But I am sure you could order any currant Creda lamp holder and lens and wire it in to the fan live and neutral.

Since the customer made the original request he has rung again to say he wants lights in the top and bottom ovens. I had ordered a creda lamp, part No. 6101809 and went along this morning to see if it would fit. This will fit in the top oven but not the bottom. The customer had not mentioned this to me but it turns out he had already contacted Glen Dimplex, asking for the parts for the oven light. They had sent him 2 items, a lamp sleeve, part No. 082604954 and a bulb. I could not figure out how this sleeve would fit but I think I’ve worked it out now. It must screw to the inner back panel and space the lamp outwards to be flush with the fan cover. I’m not sure what to connect the top oven lamp to, perhaps there is a switch on the oven stat to disable the grill simmerstat?

Tricky one Phidom 😕 Cant think of any way of picking up a switched live or neutral when using the top oven or grill unless the cooker has has a comutator type switch. Perhaps someone else can come up with an idea.
