    Hi all, I checked this belling xou70fp mk 2; and the cooling fan mounted on the back panel won’t turn, checked the voltage that’s ok 228v , so as you do install new fan motor but no same problem the motor won’t run its getting power so I’m stuck here any help appreciated thanks

    is there 240 volts across the terminals of the fan? i think not, you may have 2 lives but no neutral

    this fan is controlled by a pcb, chances are the power supply capacitor on the pcb has failed. Change that or the whole board and it should work

    Hi Dave , I have 220 across the tags alright a live and neutral, the neutral coming from that PCB mentioned, and the live coming from the main switch and through a temp cut out , I’m a bit puzzled all I can think is its not getting the amperage also the neutral from said PCB is always on , as soon as the oven is switched on its live , I would have expected at 80 degrees it strarts up cooling ?

    Ah! There be where the problem lies.

    if its not getting the amperage then the voltage will go down on the fan. did you check the voltage under load ie leads connected to fan ?

    if you measure with leads off the fan you will not get an acurate reading as you meter is prob around a 1 meg ohm load

    I did a test with leads on and off fan Dave , I also took a neutral from the main connector box coming in , in all cases it read 220v on my meter I’m stumped here the only thing I didn’t do was take a fly lead to the fan , I will try that

    let me get this right

    are you connecting your meter leads to both terminals on the fan motor
    or
    1 lead to the main neutral and getting 240v on both connections

    still think pcb power supply cap is most likely fault

    Re: Belling cooling fan stuck

    I’ve tested power at the fan motor terminals , 220 and with the wires off the fan motor 220v , then suspected a neutral fault so I ran wire fro the main incoming neutral to the fan motor terminal, with it’s own live and also read 220v , the fan motor is faintly buzzing and is getting warm , the neutral is coming from PCB so why then is it not working with an external neutral this is what I can’t understand

    what’s the voltage with the wires on the fan motor

    if you measure with the wires off you will get a false reading

    It’s just over 228 v

    Re: Belling cooling fan stuck

    in that case it must be a faulty fan as it should run on 228v

    as a last check get a plug and lead and power fan motor directly through a 3amp fuse for safety
    you can try it on the old fan first
    let me know what happens
