The door on our belling dishwasher has started popping open after 2-3 mins.
I have just changed the lock , and removed the top and bottom plate trays. The machine then ran a full cycle without problems.

However, as soon as i put the lower tray back in, the problem returned with the door only staying closed 3 mins.

The machine is 4-5 years old, and we have lost a couple of wheels off the plat tray due to breakages. Could it be as simple as the tray pushing forwards due to only having four wheels instead of six wheels on it? I have tried configuring the wheels in differant places on the tray but to no effect.

    any possible solutions are welcome!!!!

Yep,it’s nearlty always a simple answer to door not closing .Top baskets have to mate up with a fitting at the back so if the wheels are missing it won’t be linilng up and is probably pushing the door open.
Replace wheels and you should be OK.

Check also that the door opens to 90 degrees and no more. If the door has go “over square” and droops towards the floor, the hinges are bent. Not a job that you (or I!) would enjoy.

the door is going past 90 degrees.

Does that suggest its not worth saving, because im guessing the repair costs for an engineer are going to be more than a new machine

Would be worth a look, it will need new hinges and the engineers’ time but if the rest is in good nick it’s worth sorting.
