ParticipantHi
I have a belling cookcenter range cooker model No 130. I can switch the fan oven on ok, the fan spins but the oven will only just about get warm, these symtoms coincide with the trip switch being tripped on the main fuse board. Everything else seems to be ok.
Is it the fan element?
Can it be repaired by the DIYer?Any help would be much appreciated.

ParticipantHi Neil,
Sounds like element failing under load – DC can probably help you with replacement.
In theory, this is a screwdriver job, but you need to be certain in your own mind of your own abilities. Really, you need to be competent with a multimeter at the very least to check earth leakage and continuity, so if you’ve any doubts at all, get some help!
You can check in the Directories section for a UKW engineer in your area, or stick your postcode up in here and someone will pick up on it.

Yeah, 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} the fan element has failed.
Can you check the model number though, 130 is not a listed model.

Aha, now I know which it is
It’s a Creda manufactured unit. Fan element is £18.50 including post and VAT.
If you need one let me know by email and I’ll let you have more details.

I had the same problem on a Belling Countrychef 924 – the element failed after 18 months – just out of warranty 😡 …not impressed! Yes a screwdriver and a multi-meter does the job …plus 33 quid!!

Hi,
I appreciate this is an old topic, but our Belling Countrychef 924 has done exactly the same thing – fan works, oven doesn’t heat up – and yeah it’s just out of warranty.
However, I’m no good with multimeter or whatever, how can I get this fixed without paying the earth? We’re near Boston in Lincolnshire, postcode is PE22 0EB…anyone?
Thanks,

Have you tried the repairs@ link (below) ?
You should find an Independent engineer on there who can help 🙂
