Participanthello people. my oven after about 8 yrs of use has stopped getting very hot…everthing seems to work top element, light, thermostat light, clock, all work. fan oven and bottom element not getting hot at all and there is electricity getting to them when i tested the live wires that lead to them with an electrical screwdriver with bulb tester. i took out the fan oven element after removing the oven cos the nuts are at the back. very easy. im now looking at the bottom element and it looks like i have to strip the oven to pieces to get to it. am i missing an easy way to remove it
thanks for any help.March 3, 2011 at 10:56 am #346082iadom

What you are missing is the knowledge of how to work safely with electrical appliances. :zap:
All testing should be done with the appliance fully isolated from the mains. Using a neon tester screwdriver is a very dangerous thing to do.
You need to test the individual elements with a megger or suitable multi meter with the elements completely disconnected.
If you do not have this test equipment and know how to use them then please, please get someone who does to have a look at your cooker.
At that age it should be well worth repairing correctly but above all else, SAFELY.

Hi
Deleted your post from the new thread you started on the same topic and transferred it to this one.
It’s much easier to keep track of one thread.
