ParticipantHi all, been out to above cooker main oven works ok when customer uses it at say 175, but on a higher setting will eventually trip the main rcd, cant find earth fault, main element perfect reading, disconected most everything else in turn, only fault i can find is main oven fan running quite slowly, quite stiff but not earthy even when hot, will need to be changed anyway. any input would be welcome/ Thanks Allan

I think you’ll find it easy to locate the earth fault once you allow it to heat up and trip out. 💡
Otherwise testing from cold, it may never show up.:(
As for the fan being stiff, if a squirt of 3 in 1 don’t cure it then best stick in a new one whilst your at it! 🙂

I’ve no clue what a Belling Finesse 550 is TBH but if it’s just a fan oven that heats up then trips it’s just got to be the element, got to be! If so, stick a new one in to test and see what happens. 💡

double oven with ceramic top, though it might have been top oven lower element tripping through neutral, as it is on top of main oven, def not as isolated when testing again, main oven element not showing any leakage even when hot but i guess its worth a punt!

Would imagine the fan motor windings would get overly hot and go faulty if fan is not running at correct speed. I’ve had a spate of new Belling ovens with lamp unit failures putting off trips but not this model, which I presume is a 550 MKII

Yeah thats what my line of though was, although fan shows no sign of eath leakage even when hot, i did isolate the lamp and was not the problem, thanks
