Not sure about model number, all I could find was 600X and a serial number. I couldn’t get it out due to floor installation but just wanted to know does this cooker use a base element for the top oven and if so is it still available?

Thanks once again Don, I was out on the road when I posted earlier, will still have to wait until her son drags it out to check, complaint was of top oven not reaching temp and customer thought it was the stat but now I know there is a base element I can check that out first.

That one seems to be listed as a ‘lower oven’ element though, this is the upper, small oven/grill compartment. 😕

Iv’e just tried those alternative part numbers into Connect search and they quote it as ” top oven lower element.”

Look and see I guess 😉

The only way to be certain, as the main oven is a fan assisted oven it doesn’t have any side elements anyway.

Not sure how old its, customer thinks at least 20 years but it is in excellent condition. 8)

Base element confirmed as faulty, I can just see it by holding the left hand side away but suspect the front edge screws of the side are under a plastic looking trim.

Anyone done a top oven base element on one of these?

Looks like I may have to remove the back panel which is secured to the hob and has pcb’s and other bits and bobs attached to gain access, unless you know better. 😉

    Re: Belling Format elements

sounds like the first format made by belling of Enfield these have a rectangular panel which has a small pcb and the mains terminal undo the screws and carefully lower the panel to reveal the element teminals and a flat head
bolt the only fixing. the side panel screws at the front are hidden by a cover trim you can prize this off from the bottom but shouldnt need to

Brilliant, thanks for that, it is a UK made machine, built like a tank. I had removed that small panel but I didn’t want to disturb the pcb etc without prior knowledge.

    Jim.
