ParticipantHi, hope someone can help. We have a Belling IDW604 dishwasher which is about 4 years old. Generally been working fine. Few cycles this week didn’t clean at all well. Looked at it yesterday realised filters hadn’t been cleaned for ages, so did that. Went to use it today and it doesn’t work for more than 1 minute. All looks OK to start with, select program, close door, usual initial sound which I think is the pump pumping out water. After a minute or so that sound goes and it doesn’t then do anything else. When I open the door there is no error code displayed. Power and water supply are fine and as I say generally been working OK previously. I understand there may be a programmer reset necessary but I don’t know if that will do the job, nor do I know how to do it.
Any ideas gratefully received.
Thanks

Its a bit of a long shot, but try pooring a kettle full of boiling hot water in the base of the machine, leave it for 10 mins, and then try it! we have done this in the workshop in the past, To be honest’it does not have a good success rate, but would be a cheap and easy repair if it works.

And to be equally honest, if you have managed to get 4 years out of a low end Chinese made dishwasher you are already quids in, don’t waste any serious money on it. 😉

Belling IDW604 dishwasher problems SCENARIO: Power on and water pressure unchanged from last time. In addition all the lights light up when power button is pressed. When the PROG button pressed it does NOT light up any of the possible program lights.
Analysis: IT IS POSSIBLE that the machine thinks the door is still closed!
ACTION/RESOLUTION: With power off!! Obtain a stiff piece of wire and use to prise up the white (probably dirty) plasticy / nylon door ‘catch’ now stuck in the door itself. Its fiddly and you will need patience but, you will know when the ‘catch’ is up as it will look different. You might want to shape the end of your wire into a small flat ‘U’ shape about half a inch wide. An old coat hanger would be good.
Then power up and choose a program.
