Belling SGE12X washing machine does not spin at all

Hi all, I have a Belling SGE12X washing maching that wont spin at all, it makes high pitched noise on spin cycle, it sounds like the motor isnt connected to the drum? From reading a guide about common problems it sounds like the belt has come off or broken. What are the chances of it being the belt? Is this easy to fix?

Any help greatly appreciated.

just as likely as any other fault

but

you have to find out if there is any reason why the belt has fallen off. check the drum pulley to see if its loose.

has the machine been making a lot of noise on spin lately and is there signs of leaking water round the drum pulley

if no to all the above put the belt bach on (its elasticated)

Thanks Dave, Took the back off and its definitely the belt and have ordered a new one, i think it broke because it was overloaded.

if its broken through overloading you will find, where is has broken, the rubber looks burnt
if its a clean break prob a duff belt

make sure the drum turns freely and does not catch as i have had things get under the drum and jam it causing the same fault
