ParticipantHi
I’ve ordered a replacement belt but could do with some tips on replacement.
Is it best to approach from the front or back in this particular model? All the online advice I’ve found for generic Whirlpool drive belt replacement suggests the front is the way to go but they all refer to US models.
Many thanks in advance.

AWZ7814AL…..
Remove plug, lid, outer rear cover and inner rear cover. Remove drum, left hand side panel (from the rear), lower cover from the motor and fans and the front fan. Fit new belt around motor shaft. Replace fan and covers. Fight drum back through belt. Refit panels as above. Before fitting rear outer cover, align belt and fight onto tension pulleys.
Make a note or take pictures of the position of all wiring before starting – we’re not allowed to sort out that kind of mistake.
Allow Sunday for the job and retire to the pub afterwards. Contemplate that it might have been so much simpler just to ask your local independent repairer to do this for you.

Sorry yes AWZ7814AL, that was a small typo.
Hell, that sounds like quite a trial. On every dryer model I’ve found instructions for online it sounds like such a simple task. I even found a You-Tube video where the chap completed belt replacement in his Whirlpool dryer in 14minutes!
I’ll give the local engineer a ring and get a quote. I feel fairly comfortable technically speaking doing this but I’d rather not give up an entire day and it sounds like there may be a fair amount of swearing involved 🙂
Thanks for the advice.

Nope, condensor, demolition required. Vented dryer is under 15 minutes.
