ParticipantHi
The spin cycle stopped working. I removed the lower back panel and the belt fell out, So I guess that’s the problem. There is no room to access the drum etc from that small rear panel and I cant find a way to remove the back panel entirely. So my question is how do I gain access to the necessary bits to replace the belt with a new one?
Thankyou for any help.

You remove the top panel, place the belt on the drum pulley (fit a cable tie on the belt to hold it on the pulley). At this point we use a special belt tool to stretch it over the motor pulley. (Not got one ha? Try a length of steel tubing) once belt stretched onto motor pulley cut the cable tie off and viola! 😀

ok…apologies for replying to own post but I fixed it and thought id post up the how here in case it helps others.
I took off the top panel/lid by removing the two rear screws and giving the front of the lid a really hard thump from the front towards the rear at about 45 degrees. Finally it came off.
There was then just enough space to reach down to the drum wheel.
The belt is a tight fit so I put the belt around the motor spindle first, then 3/4 around the drum wheel and turned the drum wheel so the belt fed itself up onto the wheel. Just the same technique as fitting a bicycle chain onto the front cog wheels when it has come off.
The machine is now spinning.
Cheers.

If you haven’t replaced the belt then chances are it will come off again sometime soon. If the drum bearings are noisy and brown water stains on the rear subframe then the belt will come off the first wash you do.
Fingers crossed that non of the above applies.:D

If you do replace the belt soak the new one in boiling water for a few minutes. Makes fitting a lot easier

Also make sure the pulley is not loose 😉
