First post, just found site. I have done a search with no result.
I know this machine is old, it has done well, worked perfectly until recently. now regardless of switch position (either of them) or door position (open or closed) when the mains is turned on it starts up and sounds like it’s going to work but doesn’t fill and does not progress, never stops either.
now it’s insured, and an engineer is going to come in 7 days time, I am just soliciting opinion to ensure I’m not getting bull ! I know less than nothing about Dishwashers.

Presumably the flood protection system is operating – the undertray will have flooded and trhe float will be operating the microswitch.

    Drain off and find leak…….

    Power off, of course.
