Machine washes ok but will not spin. It ramps up to spin for 1 second and then back to distribute, then ramps again to spin for one second, then timer advances to end of cycle. I have checked pressure system, tacho, brushes etc. There are no earth faults, it is not out of balance.

My thoughts are that it must be the control unit. Any ideas?

Have you actually removed the tacho coil to check the magnet Bob?

If the timer quickly advances through spin then almost always that’s due to incorrect feed-back from the motor. Brushes and Magnet the main protagonists 😉

That was my first thought but physically the magnet looks fine and the coil tests ok.

I have just had a replacement tacho delivered for another customer so I will try that tomorrow.

Had this before Bob, turned out to be control unit everything else was fine just ramped up but wouldnt spin.
