This is turning out to be a “wish I had not got involved” job. 😥

    PNC.914634501-01

Initial complaint of sticking and taking ages to wash. On first visit I found that the hot & cold pipes fitted to the wrong valves. As it was in an apartment with very poor hot water pressure I thought ‘sorted’.

She then said that it didn’t want to start unless she ‘inched’ it just past programme 4 and also stuck completely at number 5 (rinses)

I set it to just before No:5 to catch the first drain, it drained out, tumbling gently, then it clicked onto 5. The fill valve energised for a split second then the machine stopped. If I nudged the timer on a little it then filled perfectly to correct level.

As this has a mechanical timer it looked for all the world as though the control timer was faulty. As she later said that it stuck on a spin cycle as well I thought it must be the timer.

Sadly that is not the case, fitted a new timer this afternoon (pig of a job) and the fault is still there. I can get it to fill on the odd rinse (possibly last rinse)to the correct level but not on the washes.

    Any suggestions welcome.

    TIA.

    Jim.

EDIT. Had a good look at TDS and I cannot see a wiring diagram for the electro mechanical timer, are they hidden away somewhere?

I don’t suppose anyone has a wiring diagram for the electro mechanical timer version????/

Not wanting to state the obvious but are you sure the valves are ok. What are the coil readings? Maybe the coil is low resistance or going OC when power applied.

Wash and dry elements, motor sound.

Other than that its loosing a circuit path somewhere. Is there a seperate module on this model?

It appears to be the same as WDT1085 – 91463405100 same timer number and this one has drawings attached – might help with diagnostics ?

It will fill perfectly when I eventually get it to a position which I suspect may be the last rinse. I even swapped the plugs between the two cold valve solenoids to no avail. I can’t get it out but I suspect it has the ‘L’ shaped PCB in the base.

The real problem with checking motor or anything else is that like all of the appliances in this development it is in a small cupboard so access is almost impossible, I suspect they took the door frames out before they put them in. 😥

I have found the two wiring diagrams for the 914634501-00

So I may have a go with them unless anyone can come up with a better solution. 🙂

It could still be the hot valve though? As I would imagine it fills hot & cold on the wash. If this machine needs a circuit through all the valve coils then you really need to check the resistance rather than swapping the plugs over.
(My thought process is on the old bosch machines where an open circuit / low resistance valve stops the pump from running.)

Are you a mind reader Tim, the hot valve was one of the first things I was going to test this afternoon, thats if I can actually at the damned thing. 😥

Thats why I posted the question in the first place, just in case this machine had any known idiosyncrasies such as that.

    We will see. 🙂
