ParticipantAnyone familiar with this machine. We have developed a knock on the spin cycle? – and consequently nicknamed it Woody. I am aware that there are two shockers in the back but I was wondering if anyone knew which one would be worn. Just saves the hassle of pulling it out, stripping off the back and then determining which one, putting it all back together, ordering the part and then go through the whole cycle again.
Chap in the UK Forum reckons it’s probably a loose counterweight…?? Will check this out.

Looks like you’ve got us with this one…….. Bendix (or Tricity Bendix) in the UK is a Zanussi proprietory brand – presumably a different base machine over your end of the world.
You could try sticking up a piccie (you can upload through Profile) and see if that gets anything started. It’ll be the same as something we’ll recognise.

Check the inner bowl to see if it is loose, try lightly wobbling the bowl. This could indicate a broken spider (the bracket at the back of the bowl) or worn bearings – both are common problems, particularly if you regularly do cold/quick washes.

Yes, looks like this could be the issue. I have eliminated the Shockers, Counterweights, and any other outer attachment. The noise is definitely coming from within.
Is the drum clamp the only device supporting the inner and outer bowls? Bendix put a great deal of faith in these if that is the case.March 6, 2006 at 10:56 am #166910qas

This is generally beyond the capabilities of the home handyman. Contact the local Bendix specialist in your area, but be prepared to spend >$300 to have this fixed.

Does anyone know of any service manuals available in pdf for this machine?

We’re still stuck with the same basic problem James – what is the machine it’s based on? Any chance of a couple of pictures? Maybe one with the lid or back off?
We might get somewhere…….
Thanks,

Gents,
I am intrigued that you need to view the machine. A Bendix WD1054B, is after all said and done, a Bendix WD1054B. Manuals for these machines are obviously available for their service representatives. How does one upload images on the forum?

Download your pictures onto a ‘Web hosting’ site like :-
Then add the ‘link’ address from that site onto your post using the ‘Img’ or ‘Url’ button above each posting box. Press ‘Preview’ to check your pictures are correctly placed before ‘Submitting’ your post 😉

Because we’re based in the UK mostly (apart from qas) and have no access to any technical information on this model 🙂
