A friend of mine is wanting a new drier and was wondering which is the best Miele or ISE.

Obviously Miele monopolise on servicing and the price of parts are disgraceful. :rolls: Where as the ISE seems to be more user and service/repair friendly! 🙂
I have to say I WOULD NOT touch any Miele appliance because of this monopolising crap, but I like the concept and design of the ISE machines, but thats just IMHO.

I said I thought the ISE was best, but was wondering what the proffesionals thought. Got a White Knight myself and am happy with it (local produce to me!!), but he wants something better quality, also he said price wasn’t really an issue (wish we could all say that :clown: )!!

    Thanks very much,
    😉

    myself, i recommened zanussi

the build quality has always been the same, repaired an 8 year old one today, put on a belt and a pulley, sounded like new

im sure the ise is well built, i just like zanussi dryers

white knight arent too shabby either

Thanks Helo_75, will pass that on!!

Nice to know White Knight aren’t too bad either, I’ve heard some horror stories, but if it breaks down it will be getting repaired (not into throwing good things away!! 🙂

Are Bosch any good these days? I have a 15 year old Bosch washer, but I fear their quality might not be as good as it was back then, but am happy with that as well! 8)

I also said avoid anything by Merloni like the plauge! Now thats shoddy rubbish! 🙁

    Much appreciated,
    😉

for me, bosch dryers (apart from not being made by bosch) are overpriced and a little bit of a let down, albeit reliable

    most guys would say zanussi

White Knight is the pick of the “cheap and cheerful” machines.
Zanussi/Lux group stuff is the best of the middle ground.
If you can find a proper Bosch-built dryer (rather than a badged-Gorenje) they’re excellent, but electronic failures can be very expensive to put right.
The ISE10 dryers are just something else…… 😀

To answer the thread question literally, 😉 I would say Parnall and English Electric, circa 1960/70. 8)

Re: Best quality tumble driers ever made.

talking about old stuff. im desperately trying to find a 2ndary “airflow” motor for a customers 24year old zanussi TD300… – the fan motor’s bearings are shot and sound like a train on concrete!

apart from that the dryer is in perfect condition evn tho it sees 4-5 tumbles a week…!

so if anyone has any main drum-bearing failures etc (unlikely i know) id be up for taking the app of their hands!

and back on top pic W/K dryers – AW44s are good valu, and would be even better if only they had front rollers! zanussi ZDE26000W’s for midrange, and a mieles for the £480+ brigade! (not that i beleive its worth near-£500 tho!).

one warnign about the zanussi’s they had a drum support roller upgrade where the roller was revised to have a metal shaft, largly because the all-plastic roller would wear and melt the central hole rather quikly!! so try and get that changed under warranty!!!

    Thanks gandh1,

Also I do not think the White Knights are bad machines at all, there is alot worse out there, Merloni for example. 8)

    Cheers,

Our White Knight has been going for over 10 years. It needed a new timer this year, total cost £18

Mine could do with a new fluff filter – £14.00 inc. VAT and Delivery, not bad at all, could pick one up from their factory on my way to work!! Parts are very reasonable and easy to repair also. 😛

The equivalent on a Miele would probably be £500!! plus VAT, del. and they would probably insist on fitting the damn thing for you as well! :rotl:

Miele have by far the lowest rates of failure.

At the cheaper end Indesit fair well

    Exactly Jim! :rotfl:

I would never touch a Merloni appliance and nor would my friend that wants the new tumble drier!!

This is what happens when you buy an Indesit……… :hitfan: and then this when you have to deal with the call centre………. :bang: .

    Hence my signature! 😆
