I’m after some ideas for a new machine for a very regular customer.
He’s got 3 WM in his verterinary practice and they are generally quite heavily used. (they’re well used but not hammered)

He won’t buy industrial, he wants (belive it or not) cheap to buy but doesn’t mind paying maintenance (that’ll be me then) 😀 😀

He won’t rent industrial either – too many years of poor service.

Something with pump/filter at the front,(regulary blocked) Reasonably easy (cost effective) bearing changes, cold fill only (problably all machines now are) – parts generally at a reasonable price.

I know a tall order but I thought I’d ask around.

A couple of years ago he replaced one of the machines with another Zanussi but a modern one – of course that’s a sealed tub. Probably thought it was as solid as his old FL884s that he’s got.

I was thinking Gorenje but never worked on any of their WMs only worked on their cooking range.

I’m open to suggestions (reasonable ones) – he’s a valuable customer – I almost got his wife to buy an ISE 10 but managed to get her LG going again… I’ll get the sale next time. Only the best for her house but any old stuff for the surgery.

    Regards

    Steve

If it’s just cheap machines that are cheap as chips to fix then ISE2 would be just fine but, like most all, there’s no warranty in commercial premises.

ISE10 is suitable for the use and carries a three year warranty in that sort of use as well.

    Hi Steve

Would one of the Whirlpool semi comercial top loaders like the LSQ8033 fit? They measure 1092 h, 683 w and 686 deep. They will take a large 8.1 kg load, hot and cold fill and will wash in about twenty five minutes. The only real downside to them is they have no heater and the water consumption is quite high.

Managed to find a link on the spec if you want to take a look.

    Thanks to all for help.

Don – WP top loader just a tad too big but thanks for advice and have kept the site for reference.

How much is an ISE 2 ??- I can find price for ISE 5/10 and the dryer.
I don’t know why I didn’t think about an ISE for his surgery.

I’ll try and run an ISE 2 by him…… He’s in a bit of shock at the moment as he’s just got my quote to bring his premises up to Water Reg standards after water company inspection. He needs to put cat 5 back flow protection to feed 2 of the 3 WMs as well as other work. The installation of the cat 5 protection going the cost C£1600.00… 😥 😥

He needs one of these or similar fitting !!

    http://www.arrowvalves.co.uk/productdetail.php?id=86

Mind you, he’s got 2 1/2 weeks left to have it done or no water supply/prosecution time !!! Up to £2k for each violation for these WRs.

What’s up Jim, don’t you like vets ???

He took over £1K off us last year for treatment for our dogs’ cancer – got most of it back though from insurance. 🙂

Anyway, I’ll get hold of our local ISE dealer in Boston and see if he’s got one in.

The Customer knows the score on no warranty due to non domestic use.

    Thanks Steve

I used to work full time on a farm 40 years ago, the vets would quickly condemn a farm animal because they knew the farmer was running a business.

The same vets kept the animals of the general public alive at extortionate cost when a knock on the head would have been the best solution.

Actually one of my brothers and his wife both work at the Central Veterinary Labs in Weybridge, both Doctors of Microbiology, they could tell you some tales. :rolls: 😉

If that’s Ian then he should have a few there Steve.

£275 is what a lot the guys are selling them for And making a good margin on, but you can set your own retail as we haven’t (deliberately) published an SSP on them. 😉

They are also proving to be cracking little robust machines.

    Hi Seamy,

If you go to http://www.iseappliances.co.uk and look down the bottom of the page there’s a link to download a PDF brochure that has a load of info on it.

It is however about to undergo a facelift pictures of which will be in the ISE forum within the next few days once I get them sorted out.

Re: Best washing for this customer

Customer has come back to me today to say that he’s been told that a Whirlpool AWM9000 will be sufficient to use at his practice and there will be no need to put any backflow measures in as required by water company. (cat 5 risk – the highest one)

I’ve never seen one before but having just looked on the Whirlpool service website it just looks like and ordinary appliance to me – …

I think some one’s pulling his leg and trying to get him to buy it – he’s also desperate not to pay out the money to have the plumbing work done.

Anyone know any different?? ………I WILL get him to buy that ISE 2.

Re: Best washing for this customer

If he is going to pay that sort of money he would be better off adding £100 and buying an ISE 10.

£515 from Appliance Planet but £900 from Currys. 😯 Only 1100 spin speed as well. :rolls:
