Right, i managed to find a bottle brush gave everything a clean and turned the dishwasher on.It worked!!! it went through the full cycle and when i opened it steam rose from the door(like usual)….. but it still displayed the “E2” symbol… so now i’m really confused.

Switch it off at the socket and leave it off for 1/2 an hour. If the board is still displaying E2 even though it’s working try giving it another reset.

It’s possible that there’s a blockage in the pressure system causing the machine to fill or empty outwith the allocated time, so even though it’s mechanically working there could still be a fault. If there is a blockage then it’s only going to get worse over time.

When it gets to this stage then I would advise getting an engineer in to strip it down to flush out / replace the affected areas.

If you do try and strip it down be very careful as i still have a scar on my knee from the stainless casing. too damn sharp.
I used to find blockages causing E2 mainly in the side chamber.
