Participantwell i hope not, because i need a hand,we moved in a year ago and the usual story of not having all of the instruction books for all the appliances has reared it’s ugly head.
The dishwasher is on the blink(and i’m running out of plates lol). The prob started a few month ago when occasionally you would get the dreaded “E2” fault in the display.BUT if you started the program again eventually it would work. The problem has slowly becoming more and more frequent and 2 days ago the washer stopped working altogether. The make is “diplomat” but i don’t know the model i’m afraid.
i’ve read else where on the forum that it could be up to 12 different faults that would cause a “E2” to appear in the display 🙁
i can post pics if need be!
cheers

The model number will start either ADP, APL or AHY followed by some numbers. We do need to know I’m afraid as this brand covers a few different manufacturers.
From what you say it sounds like you might have a blockage in the side chamber (some people call this the fill matrix). This is not really a DIY job to repair as it involves opening up the cabinet (Repairs@ should get you a local professional) but if you can get us that model number we might have a better idea what we’re looking at.

This is built by a company called Brandt and is not all that prone to the fill chamber blockage suggested previously.
Take the filter out (centre of picture 1, under lower spray arm) and give it a good clean. Remove the panel the the filter was sitting in and give the sump area a good clean (being careful not to put too much pressure on it). Pipe cleaners are good for getting into some of the channels here.
Other than that it’s a case of stripping it down to investigate further if you’re still having problems (Repairs@ is there if you need it).
The model number is on the rating plate which is on the right hand side of the door frame. You won’t have been able to see this since there’s a cupboard unit blocking your view. A little dentist-type mirror is great for this kind of thing 😉

Not that I want to argue with Dave or Kevin but I’ve had another look and I think it’s an ADP8234 (one of the Smeg types).
At the back of the sump there’s a little black rubber non-return valve which is probably all gunked up. Clear this with a pipe cleaner and give it a try.

It’s definitely a Smeg Craig, my mistake, I should have posted ADP8224 not APL8224 😉

You’re probably looking at around £350 to replace this with a similar model.
If don is about I’m sure he could give you a few more ideas on this 🙂

Hi
Yep Bosch every time they come with a two year guarantee have an excellent build, good range of programmes and temperatures and the service back up is good too.
The only thing I cannot work out is if its semi or fully integrated. The position of the controls lead me to fully but the parts listing for a APL8224 says it`s a semi integrated model ❓ .
So we`ll go for both 😉
Bosch semi integrated machine SGI43EO2GB comes in white, black or stainless steel control panel and the fully integrated model SGV53EO3GB.You can see them here http://www.boschappliances.co.uk
Your`e local retailer will be a good start point for professional service and good aftercare.
