Hi everyone beware of a company called Vardis, they cold called me last week trying to sell me advertising space in a handbook called A M8 4 Life which was for a childrens charity called The Foresters fund for children, i explained i was not really interested but send on some info & i will read through it, next thing i know is a get an invoice for £109.25 thanking me for advertising with them !!. They use Free advertising sites to contact clients.
I would never place an order for advertising from a cold call, I`m a believer that if you need something you`ll find it, if somebody tries to sell you something your not lookin for, you don`t need it.
It amazes me that people hand over bank details to a person on the back of a phone call.
Even if they pass you a web address be carefull, its worth using a business checking tool or credit check, I do it through my Bank.
The last thing you want to do is hand over a large cheque for advertising and find there bankrupt before publishing or a scam.

Luckly i aint sent a cheque, but they are very convincing, very easy to get caught out by them !
These type of phone scams selling advertising space in magazines has been discussed before on this forum.
I get about two calls a week claiming to be representing the police, ambulance, firestation and a load of charities.
I would urge all of you to just hang up, its a scam!.

They have tried calling me twice within the last week – thankfully something subconscious told me to be very wary of them, I asked during the first call to be e-mailed info which they haven’t done (might be something to do with the fact that they don’t have access to a computer even though they got my details off of a website?!?!).
I hope that they don’t try to invoice me like they did to the op.
