Send it direct to your local trading standards office complete with the envelope. They are actively working to close these down.
If you wish or feel the need to register you can do that direct for approximately £34.

I had one of these this morning as well, from a Rochdale address. After checking the link Albert kindly supplied it is indeed a bogus one.
There is a list of known and suspected and bogus agencies here :
http://www.informationcommissioner.gov. … ontent=yes
I will forward mine directly to the local Trading Standards office as suggested by Rudi.

This one has been going for about a year now.
Another scam going for a while is an offer to launder money from South Africa, In return for your Bank details they will transfer money into your account, You take 25{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} and transfer the balance into another account. What they actually do is empty your account.February 6, 2004 at 2:00 pm #109116kwatt
KeymasterThere’s loads of them out there now, calling up to sell you pens, support this and that local charity, ink for printers at “reduced costs” (my ass ;)) and a host of others.
The latest scam I detest is the one with a pre-recorded messge on an incoming line, you can’t hang up!!!
And, with the removal of all the call centres from the UK to India of late, some little Indian on the phone using VOIP with clicks and buzzes offering to sell you advertising space or an entry in some directory no-one’s ever heard of.
TBH I have eliminated that problem to a degree as I now avoid as much as possible anyone with a call handling centre outside the UK. It’s bad enough trying to get the accent over to some of our collegues in call centres in England never mind some mud hut outside Bangladesh! 😆
(Not a racist comment, merely the way I see it I’ve nothing against any colour or creed, even the Welsh! ;))

I had 2 of the Data Protection act ones on Friday & they got my name wrong? They don’t get it from the DASA list as 1 of my companies has no connection.
I am registered with the Fax Preference Service as well as the Telephone Preference Service. Both set ups work very well, especially regards tele-sales. We get very little unsolicited traffic now.

KeymasterYes I have to say simce using the FPS, TPS & MPS the junk has dropped dramatically as well.
As for where they get the names, well there’s Yellow Pages, the phonebook, Info Disc, the BT disc….
Need I go on? 😉
