ParticipantThere`s a guy in the public forums telling us that empire direct can supply a Bosch WAE24260 washing machine for £289:99 with free delivery and inc. 5 year parts and labour guarantee and they`re in stock (allegedly)
I went straight to the site thinking he must have got that wrong but sure enough that`s what it says unless I`m missing something in the small print http://www.empiredirect.co.uk/content/p … 4260GB.htm
Unbelievable deal and I`m still thinking something is not quite as it seems.
I`m thinking of buying a few 😆

Opting for a Repair Protection Plan with your purchase is the best way of protecting your product.
* No unexpected repair bills
* Protection for damage caused by accidents
* Quality approved repairs
* No charge for call out, parts or labour
* As many repairs as you need with no penalty
* New for old if we can’t repair itWhat is an EmpireDirect.co.uk Repair Protection Plan?
With an EmpireDirect.co.uk Repair Protection Plan, your payment means that any electrical or mechanical breakdown or damage to your product caused by accident will be repaired and you don’t have to pay the bill. If it can’ t be repaired, a brand new replacement will be provided.
Why take out a Repair Protection Plan?* If it breaks down, we repair it.
* Damage caused by accidents will be repaired
* If it can’t be repaired, a brand new replacement product will be providedNew for old for life
You can renew you plan annually after the intial 3 or 5 year period until your product finally breaks down beyond repair. Whenever that occurs, as long as you are still protected, we will give you a brand new replacement product of the same or current equivalent model.
The EmpireDirect.co.uk Repair Protection Plan is administered by Domestic & General and is only available on items which are to be used domestically in the homeIt’s at the bottom of the page and he probably has misread it. I would call it a “Muppet Moment”. 😉

Hi Ken
It clearly states on that page (highlighted in red just below the picture) that it includes free 5 year guarantee :?.

Sorry Bryan, I totally missed that. 😳
I have NO clue how they’re doing that deal at all, it doesn’t make sense especially if they’re using DAG for the warranty. But reading the terms the warranty is issued by Empire themselves and doesn’t appear to be underwritten.
Well dodgy IMO.

if u read it, the cop outs there
If we cannot reasonably arrange a suitable replacement we will pay you a contribution towards the cost of the new equipment. We will normally base this on reasonable usage of the item.
offer em an indesit, customer says no, offer em £20
ne reason why they cant do that, cos thats how it looks, therell be some con somewhere, although on the face of it, it looks fantastic

I sent them an e-mail asking if the 5 year warranty was either a manufacturers or a major insurance company warranty.
The reply came back “we are offering the free guarantee” whatever that means :?.
Think we`re all agreed that this looks extremely dodgy and not really a proper guarantee :rolls:. Bet they`ve shifted quite a few of those Bosch machines on that deal though and I doubt if Bosch would be very happy with empire direct using such tactics :x.

The only good thing about it Bryan is, that model is now discontinued and no more is stock available at Bosch. We had our last load last week. I guess Empire have a few to shift hence the “offer”. Anyway the WAE24162 is a much better appliance 😉
