BFI62 wont start wash – (left hand led error code)

Problem pretty much as described here (viewtopic.php?f=33&t=14886).

Machine starts, will drain if water is there.
Shortly after starting there is a short beep – drain pump carries on.
Open the door and the left hand LED is flashing.

There was a small amount of water in the base, but its possible this was from me filling it to check the pump was actually working, also it’s not enough to activate the float switch (if I lift it slightly I can hear a ‘click’.

What little water there was in the base has been removed, but it still does the same and I am wondering what the possibilities are.

Would a failed microswitch on the float cause this behaviour? Other than that, are there other sensors that could cause the same error?

There should not be any water in the base, the float micro switch is not prone to failure but it is an Indesit so anything is possible.

If you can hear a positive click from the float switch then that would suggest it is OK.

An electrical test of the float switch would be the first thing to do, however if you have taken the time to read the forums you will realise that the electronics on these Indesit machines are woeful. 😥
