ModeratorI’m fed up of going to these two machines.
In a retirement home, so used and abused by all of the staff. I have changed the door seals several times due to them getting ripped when loading but have been having door lock problems with one.
I am certain it is due to heavy handling though.
Had a problem were the machine would not start or was difficult to open, door lock mechanism looked as though it had been forced.
Changed the doorlock last week and it appeared to be working fine when I left.
Just had a call saying it has been hard to open and now they cannot open it at all. 😥
Is there something I am missing that could make the door lock hard to open, machine is draining perfectly ( fitted new pump last week as well )

Hi Cliff, the problem with this establishment is that the manager and at least two members of staff are well known to me and also good customers.
They should know I fitted as new doorlock, the machine was out of action for a couple of weeks waiting for the part.
There is a long plastic manual release strap on these doorlocks but they have managed to snap that off as well. 😥

Went back to this one today, still no joy. 😥
If you open and close the door when the machine is switched off it will open and close quite easily.
If you close the door and try to start the machine it will lock, show ‘Ready’ in the display but pressing start doesn’t always get it to kick into life, instead you get three buzzes from the door lock area.
I did get it to start once or twice then paused the machine, switched off then back on to a different programme, display showed ‘Door cannot be opened’ and the door lock did the three buzzes repeatedly.
I switched off at the mains and after a delay the door would still not open, had to pull on the manual release to get the small, white plastic locking slide to drop down.
The pressure hoses all appear clear, I’m stumped now. ❓
Any suggestions?

Sorted, eventually… :rolls: 8)
If anyone ever has to fit a door lock to one of these beasts be very careful not to over tighten the two screws holding the door lock.
It appears it was pulling the body of the door lock together, this prevented the latch locking slide from moving freely.
