When I left the owner was digging a grave in the middle of the lawn. It’s a heartbreaking experience when a pet dies naturally, but an absolute tragedy to lose one in this way. I’m sure most people on this site would agree with that.
Could you please pass on our sympathies to the dog owner, Graham. 😥Hope you are feeling OK now.
Steve.
P.S. I’d PAT test and then run each machine through fill, wash, heat, drain and spin parts of the cycle. They should be OK after drying out for a day or two. To be sure, put a dehumidifier in the room for a couple of days to draw out the water – probably a worthwhile exercise anyway considering the amount of water discharged.

Supplied a machine recently to and had run out of caps. The hot was behind the machine so not accessible. Customer insisted he’d sort it out asap rather than me have to come back to it. He didn’t…..it did.
Got a call six weeks later, carpet in front room wet and kitchen flooring ruined by ‘your washing machine’.
The tap had been dripping for a while and had caused it. When they realised what the fault was I got me head down and left rapidly…..the sparks were visible miles away 😆

Thanks for the response on this one, spoke to the owner of the dog Monday and she has been using the washing machine and dryer over the weekend despite my advise to have them checked out first. 😕
Confirmed what I had assumed that the dog did indeed turn on the hot tap. He suffered from epilepsy which may or may not have been a factor. 😥
I notice http://www.gofixit.co.uk are selling Brass Blanking Caps for 43p each but they come with a fibre washer. I know someone who uses them and he says they are fine. 😉
Thanks again
