KeymasterCan anyone advise where I might get new carbon brushes for a Blomberg washing machine ?

KeymasterHi madtam,
The brushes on this machine are not shown as a seperate item and, as usual, no doubt Comet will tell you that you have to replace the full motor at some silly price. However, we may be able to track down the carbons for you if you can give us a bit more information like the make of the motor etc. or any otehr information you can get.
A picture of the carbons may also help if it’s possible for you to do that.

They look the same as the carbons that Watermeade was after in the post below this one. The motor is a Selni and I am now off to search for Qualtex parts (possibly CAR79).
Thanks for the rapid response, and I have never been here before but it certainly looks like a useful resource that I might well return to. I might look into the off topic part as well as I do browse one or two forums for the general chat.January 19, 2005 at 4:55 pm #123955madtam

I seem to be struggling at the moment. Suppliers of parts for Blomberg products seem to be in short supply. Finding the correct parts for my machine seems to be particularly difficult.
The only place I have come across the CAR79 reference is on this forum. A couple of local suppliers don’t seem to be able to find any such thing.January 19, 2005 at 5:05 pm #123956madtam

Madtam,
Yes the CAR79 is the likely part you require and we via spares@ can get for you I’m sure 😉
Not sure what you are holding in your picture by the way. Maybe a copy of ‘Last Of the Summer Wine on DVD’……… :rotl:

There you go, added to the shop for you, hopefully that’ll be the right ones:

The moulding of the holder seems slightly different to those I have, but probably close enough to use. I should find out soon enough as I have ordered anyway.
I am not holding anything in my picture. I am wearing a pair of cycling gloves as it was taken just after a bike challenge around Summer Wine Country.
Thanks for the info guys.

The brushes arrived and fitted fine. Apart from stripping the thread out of the motor mounting everything seems fine.
Time will tell I suppose, but thanks for the help so far. -
