Not sure about that model number, only done one or two of these.
I did fit a set of brushes to this machine about 18 months ago. They are still in very good order.

    Complaint of no/slow spin.

Visually checked everything, set it to spin and it worked perfectly two or three times. Advised on possible OOB.

Customer has phoned back to say it is not spinning again, even without a load.

Any suggestions, they said it did one wash perfectly.

Says its not spinning even when completely empty. 😕

Pump & drain appeared perfect yesterday.

If the pressure switch thinks there is water in the drum it will not spin

ooohh how did i miss this?

the pressure bottle needs taking off, and the hole poking through

    it was quite common

    Called back this morning.

Pressure chamber as clean as a whistle, pressure switch operation quick and precise, pump/drain perfect.

I can’t really put it down to user error , customer has had this well built machine for many years.

Did you check the cable for the motor for breaks in the wiring?

    Err yes. 😉

Motor wiring is fine. It will do one or two washes then without warning completely miss out the spin cycle.

It has always worked perfectly whilst I was in attendance but she has just phoned to say it has done it again. Taking the load out and setting it to spin only, as I suggested has made no difference.

Wonders if a motor overload is tripping out but when it is running it is perfectly smooth, quite and with no arcing at all. ❓

its more likely a timer fault then

I was beginning to suspect that Rob, don’t see many of these TBH but it is a very solid, well built machine, sadly she is going to invest in a new machine.

I’m guessing the control unit would be pricey.

    Hi Jim

Was there a white insert within the pipe connection going into the pressure switch?
If so remove it as it slows the air leaving the presure switch so the machine still thinks it is full of water. By the time it releases the machine has aborted. Had one years ago that did the same as you are descibing and this did the trick.

Maybe too late but hope this helps

I know the sort of thing you mean, often used on dishwashers to prevent the pressure switch opening and closing rapidly as the main circ pump kicks in.

Was used years ago on Hotpoint washing machines but not seen one for a while.

As this machine has a black rubber hose I have no idea if it has an air restrictor in it. 😥

Having said that she did take out the washing and try it empty, by the time the door had unlocked and she had removed the washing and reset the machine i would think that it would have had time to release. Gently blowing up the pipe caused the switch to close and open rapidly every time I tried it.
