Blomberg 1301ABB washing m/c door seal

Hello.

Somehow there’s a small piece been lost right from the edge of the door seal on my Blomberg 1301ABB washing machine. There is now a fairly nasty leak from the door during use, and it’s only a small nick out of the edge.

I’ve not had much luck doing the old internet search thing for a replacement, other than UK Whitgoods keeps cropping up. Can anyone supply this rubber seal? Is it possible for a normal person to change the seal or is it recommended to get in a professional?

Unfortunately I can’t find the number plate on the front of the machine anywhere and it’s a very awkward position to drag in and out to look at the back, so I’m hoping the exact product/serial number isn’t required in this instance.

The machine was bought just over 5 years ago and typically this has happened just after the extended warrenty ran out.

Part no. is 55×5379, £58 and some pence through Comet spares and Vat and p+p. This is a Brandt appliance, so if you can hang fire until Dave Conway is back on line, he may be able to get it direct at a rather more reasonable price.

The door seal on this appliance is one of the most difficult to change, even
us doing all makes dread this one.

There will be a few engineers that may find it easy I have take 25 minutes and 2 hours when it has then just fallen into place doing the screw up round the band is a slow tedious job.
