My washing machine recently stopped the spinning cycle and the chugging of the pump was very noticable. I checked the pressure bell and cleaned it out. I have taken the pump off and clean around the magnet and put it back on, now the pump makes noise as though the fan inside is spining but the chugging noise as stopped and still does not spin. any Ideas or is it a new pump again??

    Regards

Was there any water left inside the machine ? & have you checked that the outlet pipe from the pump to the sink is clear, you also need to check that the connection to the sink is clear.

Well most the water was soaked into the towels, 2 meduim size towels and a large one.

Normally the chugging happens on pump cycle then the next cyle is spin, but nothing happened.

I need to find this out quick, the Wife is getting impatient, and wants to know if we should get a new one , Help!!

Two questions – does the pump drain the water away? Secondly, with no washing in the drum does it spin?

If the water is not draining then you have a blockage or the pump is faulty. If it spins with no load then you should be looking at the motor area.

Right I have cleaned out the oulet pipe and put in a wet towel and a prestow it now works. Is it normal to be sparking from the motor, its seems to be making a bit of noise on 1500, 1200 spin mode but sounds fine at 900 any Ideas???
