Our machine has suddenly stopped workking after 10 years. The timer activates round the cycle until it gets to a slot where it needs to turn something on and then it stops. Moving the control to ‘pump’ completes the cycle.
I have checked the motor and the windings and brushes appear OK (sensible resistances). But then I found a burnt-out track on the controller PCB. I have replaced this with wire but still no joy. If I could only remove the PCB I could probably do further fault-finding but – I can’t work out how to remove the PCB! Any ideas? Thanks in advance…

if i remember the blomberg door lock is directly below the soap draw it gets wet and blows up taking pcb tracks with it
you have repaired the track but the door lock may still be faulty. you will need to look at which tracks have blown and see if they connect with the door lock

    dont forget to unplug first

Dave, many thanks for the quick reply. Yes, after taking out and putting back the motor etc I was told that ‘the door LED had been flickering’ ! Wish I was told earlier…. So can I can I buy a new door lock, but more importantly how do you remove the PCB so that I can get to the connections? I can’t find where it is fixed!

blomberg was imported by comet and that is prob where you bought it from. spares can be ordered through them. not sure if onsite store does any parts but an email would clear that up
cant remember how board comes out the only one i remember is its part of the programmer. So the progammer would have to be removed and from memory is held in by 2 screws at the front behind knob

    Re: Blomberg 1501AAA control PCB

    All working now, thanks.
Just repaired the PCB tracks and dried out the door switch unit. It’s when the connectors get wet that the current going to the 30k resistor gets too high and blows the tracks on the control PCB. Nothing wrong with the door switch itself. So no new parts required except for a bit of wire. Calling Comet would have cost £150 plus £200 for a new control PCB.

    Re: Blomberg 1501AAA control PCB

its not an unusual prob so if you can add a plastic cover to the door switch it will reduce the likelyhood of re-occurance

Also, it might be useful to put a small bead of silicon between the bottom soap drawer cavity and where it meets the control panel so any leaks/condensation can’t get in. A thin bead so it doesn’t impede the drawer being closed.
