    Hi uk whitegoods
I have a Blomberg 1501AAA washing machine, the cycle goes through but there is no spin on spin cycle. I have an intermittent light on thr door lock but I can open the door during the spin(no spin). could this be the interlock stopping the spin from working?
If so could you tell me what is the possible cause.
    Cheers Roy

    Re: Spin failure

The usual problem with these is leakage from the dispenser, due to the cap that syphons the softner out getting bunged up, this water flows down the inside of the front of the cabinet right on to the door interlock often causing a short out which may in turn of blown the module/timer. This could be your spin problem as well.
whatever, its a complex machine and expert help may be required. If you do investigate yourself, be sure to pull the plug first.

    Re: Spin failure

its possibly going to be a blocked presere bottle, the machine thinks it still has water in and wont spin…..its very common on those…

I have looked at the door switch (just in so reach it) there are 3 terms on it, is there any way I can bypass it to trace the prob to either the module or the switch. What is the easiest route into the switch ?
I looked at the control board and it has some slight charring on 1 of the 3 pin plug connectorrs on the LHS but the timer module seems to be rotating switching pump / inlet valves on etc.
If the other suggestion is the pressure bottle how can that be eliminated and is it the white bottle connected to the base of the drum ?
I have re soldered the connections on the pcb as 1 track was not making contact and appeared to have lifted partly.
Again many thanks for the promp reply.

to clean out the presure bottle simply pull it out of its grommit in the rear of the tub,and gently pull of the black rubber presure hose, hold it to the light and if it looks a third full of “gunge”thats probably the no spin fault,
clean itso its spotless and fingers crossed se how you go!

Theoretically, this machine should not operate without the door locked. The lifted tracks on the timer/module are a further indication that the lock is at fault. It sits below the soap box and is vulnerable to water leakage.

If the door lock becomes “intermittent”, the computer resets itself to the start of its operating file dependent upon the timer position every time the lock faults. Turning the dial to spin causes a period of pumping, followed by tumble, distribute and a variety of short spins prior to the big spin. If the lock faults, you return the spin programme to it’s start position. Therefore, you never get to the spin sequence!

Lokring’s post is valid, the water level control is a so and so for sludging up and should be cleaned thoroughly.

I would suggest getting the lock replaced at the earliest opportunity – Dave Conway should be able to supply you one.

Whatever you do, pull the plug first.

    Penguin45.

I have checked the pressure bottle and its clean as a whistle but cleaned it anyway.
What are the chances of the interlock killing the timer / module as the module appears ok ie. pump / valves cycle ok or is it a suck it and see job.
Which is the best way to attack the door interlock as its rather a bitch to get at?
I take it Dave Conway is on the site somewhere?
    Many thanks

    Re: Spin failure

if you open the door and undoo the two torx scews going into the door interlock, pull off the retaining clamp on the outer of the door seal you can get access to the lock, what tends to happen is you get some leakage/overflow from the despenser and as the lock sits directly under the despenser, which is very unusual, flash bang goes the lock, usualy blowing off a few tacks on the timer pcb.as an ex comet engineer ive done quite a few!!………

Aha! You’re still a guest – ‘fraid you’ll have to join. Dead easy – then you can get into Shop@ as well.

Mind you, Dave’ll probably spot this when he logs on in the morning.

    Re: Spin failure

    Hi guys
Just got the door interlock fitted but still no spin. The door interlock is still not working only appears on intermittently the door can be opened at any time even when the door light is illluminated.
Checked brushes and connects on drum motor and appear ok but no spin at all even when on tumble for wash cycle.
Checked the resistance of the old switch and approx 800 ohmns across 2 terms and o/c on 2 terms.
    Any more ideas guys?????
I’ve got some pics of the timer board if anyone needs to see where the damaged tracks are.
    Roy
PS Thanks Dave for the prompt parts service but arrived the day we set off for a weeks hols hence delay in fitting.

    Re: Spin failure

sure i did one like this a good time ago and it ended up being the on /off switch/switchbank it was a weird one though it had lost the neutral through the switch 😯 just a thought some of the other lads might have other ideas? when you cleaned the bottle out did you also make sure that the little black hose was clear aswell? and are you positve that the pcb/timer are ok (they are really expensive on those) and does it drain the water ok? remember pull the plug first sounds like you might need an engineer
