    Hi all,

I have a Blomberg Fridge/Freezer (Model Number: BC272NFS). It generally works fine, except that it sometimes defrosts itself for no apparent reason -especially when I have just restocked it with food. I’m not too familiar with the whole inner workings of freezers, but it seems to me to be a faulty switch or thermostat. Can anybody help with this problem. it’s almost as if the freezer is not turning “on” again to maintain a set temp. Does anybody know how much it’ll cost to fix as I am happy with the freezer so I don’t really want to replace it,if i can help it. Thanks a lot.

    hmm, interesting one that

can i ask? when ur restocking, do you competely fill the freezer with fresh stuff?
are you aware that all manufacturers quote a limit on how much fresh food it will freeze effectively?

often, if its a frost free, and, as the freezer freezes by evaporation and condensation, too much fresh stuff can cause too much frost, therefore restricting air circulation, and seemingly appearing to defrost itself

of course, any number of reasons can cause this problem
, but if it works most of the time, it’ll most likely be the control pcb

    hope this helps

    Hi,
Thanks for replying. I never over fill the freezer as I remember a repairman once explaining the whole process to me. I will definately get the pcb looked at as the thermostat seems to work. The freezer is freezing,it reaches it’s set temp and then stops freezing. The problem seems to be that it is not turning on again until it is defrosted. My gut feel is that it’s the part that keeps the freezer at a set temp that may need looking at. Thanks again for your help.
